Dress - I'm loving Glubers

Welcom on this beautiful sunny Thursday afternoon. I've ben busy sewing dresses for my DD Sarah and my two little granddaughters. They are for my son Yossi's bar mitzvah which is in September. The colour scheme for the party is purple and green and I made the dresses in those colours. I used purple satin and organza and the green for the accents.

And I just love Cosmo Cricket glubers. All the rosettes on the dresses are made using glubers. The large ones at the bottom of the dress are 3 inches and on the belt and strap ends they're 2 inches for Sarah. Tzivi's and Estie's dresses are much smaller so I used 2 and 1/2 inches for the bottom of the dresses and cut the 2 inch ones down to 1 and 1/2 inches for the belt and straps. That was fun. I tried using spellbinders circle die and just got a whole huge sticky mess and 3 ruined giant glue dots. So in the end I just drew round the die, cut out the circles and nearly broke my nails trying to get the plastic off the glue. Still it's worth it, cos I think the dresses look lovely. I hope you do too.

Here is a pic of rhe complete dress. As you can see i gathered up the bottom edge of the overdress and put the yummy gluber rosettes on the gathers

This is a close up of the belt and the little glube roses too

A top view showing th belt and strap rosettes

Here is a close up of one of the rosettes. I added some purple adhesive stones for added effect. I just hope they stay on long enough so I can get good photos of the kids wearing the dresses

And lastly here is a view of the bottom of the dress. For some reason some of my pictures always insist on showing sideways up. If anyone knows how to rotate it after uploading I would be very grateful for your help. Thanks for visiting
