A New Mini

Hi all

Today I have a mini to show you which I made of a recent trip to Israel. This is my first ever video blog so please be patient  and try not to laugh too hard. I have also uploaded pictures so you can see the pages more clearly in case the video is a complete failure.

With this album, I challenged  myself to use only old stash and I pretty much succeeded. All the pp's and embellishments have been lurking in my craft room for ages, begging for some attention. I can't tell you manufacturers as I really don't remember anymore where the stuff comes from. It's all from my early days of scrapping when I just bought random stuff. So here goes, and enjoy. A CJ entry

I'm loving my crafting rebirth. There is so much I want to do and there just aren't enough hours in the day, what with housework and feeding the kids and all the other mundane jobs that need doing around the house.
Over on UK Scrappers I was somehow roped in to host a Circle Journal. I've just finished this month's entry. The CJ's title is All our Yesterdays and the owner wants a vintagy feel on any subject. For me the obvious choice was Vintage Vogue. My love of fashion and sewing combined with my crafting obsession really got me excited about this one.

It's a really small picture, but I'll explain it asdbest as I can. I used the Sew Cute range from My Little Shoebox, lots of distress inks, Tim Holtz ruler ribbon and Tattered angels resist alphas. My printer was having a tantrum so I cut pictures out of old sewing pattern envelopes. I tore up some sewing instruction sheets, crumpled them and distress inked them. I did the same with pattern tissue paper which I then sort of squashed up and stuck on the right hand side of the page. The little dress forms and cotton reels are stamped with the sew cute stamps, cut out and coloured. I also wrapped some bakers twine around the cotton reels and then stuck them on the pages with foam squares to give them some dimension. Hope you like it an TFL

Finally - Something to show you

I Did a Layout. I'm so glad to be back! I really enjoyed playing with all my toys yesterday and produced a layout for the first time in months. It shows my oldest granddaughter now 3 years old ''helping'' me bake. When she grabbed the spoon and the pot of chocolate cream, what did I do? Take her away? Nah gotta get the camera. This is one of my favourite pictures of Tzivi and I've been wanting to scrap it for ages. The scrummy-licious Sweet Tooth collection from Bo Bunny was. the perfect choice for this.

 

Firstly, I used 3 different colours of cardstock for the base. I then used various flower and leaf dies, to cut the bed of flowers from an assortment of the Sweet tooth patterned papers I layered the blooms around the picture, added some jewels, a little noteworthy and a title, and Voiila, a scrummy little layout of a scrummy little girl Thanks for coming over and looking

Cast off!

Well hey all of you. I'm delighted to tell you that my plaster cast has finally come off, and while it's not as good as new yet, I'm really doing my excersizes faithfully, and over the weekend I hope to do some gentle scrapping. I can't wait to use all the new goodies I bought while being out of action, and also to try some of the wonderful techniques I came across while blog hopping. It's been a long couple of months, but Hopefully I'll soon be back to my usual scrappy, stitchy self. Thanks for stopping by.

As you can see I am hiding my hand behind my back so no one should see my cast. It wa a beautiful occasion and my heartfelt thanks to my husband and children who helped it all happen. It coulld not have been done without them.
Now all of you think of me tomorrow when I have an appointment to see if my cast can finally come off. So I can soon get back to crafting and sewing and showing off some of my projects which are twirling arond in my head. Isn't it funny that when you can't craft your mojo comes hitting youu in the face with a gazzilion ideas. I just hope I'll remember them all.

A new ramble

Hi there. I'm still all plastered up so not up to much yet. My son had his Bar Mitzvah last Tuesday and it was absolutely beautiful. The children looked gorgeous and everything was amazing. A big thank you to my children and DH for working so hard. Without them I could not have done it. As soon as I get pictures I will put some up. I didn't take my own camera with as I just wanted to enjoy myself. Hopefully we'll have the pics soon.

Our new year starts on Wednesday evening and of course I'm still unable to do any preparing or cooking. My husband and kids are gonna have to chip in again. It's three days so alot for them to prepare.

Right now at my sister's babysitting my nephew while she goes to work. Said nephew has tonsillitis again. He's on the waiting list to have his tonsils out. At least I'm doing something worthwhile with my time.

I went to the Stamping and Scrapbooking show and spent my money on plenty stash which I can't wait to get my teeth into once this cast comes off. Roll on the 3rd October. Hope it comes off then. Keep your fingers crossed all of you.

Hello again

Hi everyone. I havent been on for a while as I have nothing to show you, but just so you know Im still alive I decided to pop along and show you some pictures of my bright pink cast

As you can see my fingers are all still chubby and swollen and my skin is peeling madly. Also my arm under the cast is itching like crazy and I know Im not supposed to put anything into the cast to scratch it, but I just can't help it.

My sons bar mitzvah is in just over a week and I'm getting really busy. My two eldest are helping me with all the cooking etc as I can't really do anything. I'm getting quite frustrated and can't wait for 3rd October when I'll hopefully get rid of the dratted thing.
